- Theatinerstrasse with the Fünf Höfe (Five Courtyards) shopping mall – fashion, literature, living. Urban aesthetics.
- Sendlinger Strasse from Sendlinger Tor (i.e. from hotelmüller Munich) to the centre around Marienplatz: the heart of the city is home to the major shopping streets for the ordinary man or woman about town.
City districts, main themes and trends
- The Viktualienmarkt is a hotbed of culinary treats: from Bavarian classics to exquisite specialities, Germany’s best open-air market offers everything that the heart (or stomach) could wish for.
- Schuhbeck’s spice shop
- Dallmayr: delicatessen
- Young designers and trends can be found in Haidhausen or Schwabing
- Increasing numbers of galleries are based in Maxvorstadt and Schwabing.
