Running tracks: Sightjogging in Munich
A short run in the morning, a round in the evening - starting at the carathotel München there are some very nice run distances which can be also connected with Sightjogging.
Sightjogging? Yes, Sightjogging. According to "Szenesprachenwiki" (a lexicon for new language) Sightjogging combines the customary sightseeing with fitness, while one runs around the places of interest. Tourist education combined with sport: The wellness society just offers always new curiosities. Try it out.
Here come our proposals:
Circuit Theresienwiese
Mileage: 4,7 km
The run leads you all around the Theresienwiese. The famous Oktoberfest takes place here annually. Moreover, you run past the fame hall with the Bavaria-Statue. The Bavaria is the patroness of Bavaria. In the head of the statue there is a platform with two benches which can be mounted about a spiral staircase inside of the figure. From four view hatches you have a look over the Theresienwiese and the surrounding town quarters.
Circuit Alter Südfriedhof / Isar
Mileage: from 1,5 km- can be extended individually
The beginning of the course leads you over the old south cemetery. He was during 80 years the only burial ground for the dead from the whole city, which is why there are the graves of many prominent inhabitants of Munich. At the exit of the cemetery you turn left and reach at 2 min the Isar meadows. Here it is ideal to run up to one of the upstream lying bridges, to cross it and to run back on the other side. Therefore you have a nice circuit and can extend the distance individually.
